This policy explains what happens to personal data when you use motionblur.com.mt. It is written to describe what this website genuinely does, rather than what a website of this kind usually does.
The site is run by Motion Blur Ltd., 5 Toni Bajjada Square, Naxxar NXR 2590, Malta — the data controller for everything described here. You can reach us at info@motionblur.com.mt or +356 2144 1780.
This policy covers this website only. Our casting and talent database at cast.motionblur.com.mt is a separate system; if you have registered there as a model, actor or crew member, that data is handled separately from anything described below.
What we collect
What you type into the instant estimate. The "Get an instant estimate" tool
at /estimate is a conversation. Everything you write in it — the description
of your project, and your name, email, phone number and company if you choose
to give them — is collected. You are never required to give contact details to
see an estimate, and the tool asks for them only once.
Your IP address. Sent by your browser to our server with every request, as with any website. We use it to stop one visitor overwhelming the estimate tool, and it appears in our hosting provider's request logs.
How you use the site. Which pages you visit, where you arrived from, and roughly where in the world you are, collected through cookies and similar technology by the analytics and advertising services listed further down.
Nothing else. There are no accounts on this site, no login, no shopping cart and no payments. We do not buy personal data about you from anyone else, and we do not run credit or fraud checks.
The instant estimate, and the AI behind it
This deserves its own section, because it is the one place where something you write is sent to another company.
The estimate tool is powered by a large language model provided by Anthropic. When you send a message, the conversation so far is transmitted to Anthropic's API, which generates the reply and works out the structure of your request. That means anything you type into the chat leaves our systems and is processed by Anthropic. Please do not put anything sensitive into it — if there is something confidential about your project, tell us by email or on the phone instead.
Two things the AI does not do. It does not calculate the price: the estimate you see is produced by our own pricing rules running on our server, from the structured summary the model fills in. And it does not have access to anything about you beyond the conversation you are having.
When the conversation ends, we email ourselves the whole thing — your contact details if you gave them, the summary of your project, the estimate you were shown, and the full transcript — so that a producer can follow up with a real quote. That email goes to our studio inbox and nowhere else.
The site keeps no database. Between messages, nothing about your conversation is stored on our server; your browser holds it and sends it back each turn. If you close the tab before finishing, we have nothing.
The same estimate and enquiry functions are also reachable by AI assistants
through a machine interface at /api/mcp. If you use one, the details you
submit reach us the same way and are treated identically.
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Tag Manager to load a small number of measurement and advertising services:
- Google Analytics 4 — how many people visit, which pages they read, how they got here.
- Google Ads — measures whether an ad we ran led to an enquiry, and allows us to show ads to people who have visited the site.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — the same, for advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
These set cookies in your browser and share information about your visit, including your IP address, with Google and Meta.
None of it runs until you say yes. The first time you arrive, a bar at the bottom of the page asks. Until you answer — and for as long as your answer is no — Google Tag Manager is not loaded at all: no analytics or advertising cookies are set, and nothing about your visit reaches Google or Meta. Accept and Reject sit side by side and look the same, because saying no should be exactly as easy as saying yes.
Your answer is kept in your browser, in a stored value called mb_consent
rather than a cookie, and it lasts a year before we ask again. You can change
it whenever you like: Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page. If you
turn tracking off having previously turned it on, we delete the Google and Meta
cookies we can reach and reload the page so their scripts are gone too.
You can also stop this at your end rather than ours, by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings, by using Google's opt-out add-on, or through your Google and Meta ad settings. Most browsers explain how at allaboutcookies.org.
Videos on this site are embedded from YouTube using its no-cookie domain, so YouTube does not set advertising cookies unless you actually press play.
The map on our contact page works the same way, only stricter. What you see there is a picture of the map, served from this site. Nothing at all is requested from Google until you press Show map — and if you would rather it stayed that way, the address is printed in full beside it and the link opens Google Maps in a separate tab, on your terms rather than ours.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass your enquiry to other production companies or agencies.
Some of these companies are based outside the EU, or process data outside it. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place — standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and estimate conversations: two years from your last contact with us, unless you become a client — in which case the details belong to the project and are kept as long as we need them for that work and for our accounting obligations. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Rate-limiting data — the record that a request came from your IP address — lives in our server's memory for a day at most and is not written down anywhere.
Analytics and advertising data is kept by Google and Meta under their own retention settings, not ours.
Hosting request logs are kept by AWS for their standard period.
Why we are allowed to do this
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote: because you asked us to, as the step before a possible contract, and because we have a legitimate interest in running our business.
- Protecting the estimate tool from abuse: our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and its costs under control.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: your consent, given through the banner described above. You can withdraw it at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to what we do with it, including any use for marketing;
- hand it over to you or another company in a portable form.
Email info@motionblur.com.mt and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner: idpc.org.mt.
Other websites
This site links out to other places — our casting database, our social media profiles, YouTube. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when what the site does changes. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed.
