Malta, 1941. RAF Squadron Leader James Alden is given the order to escort a German child to safety. The survival of this girl will ultimately decide the outcome of a conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
On his way to the airport, James is surprised by a night-time air raid. He seeks shelter in a countryside chapel and hides the child in an underlying crypt.
In the darkness of the blackout he is confronted with a stranger. As the men try to determine each other’s identities, a power play unfolds. James knows, that just one wrong move will risk everything.
When a patrol moves in and the situation escalates, it is not just the life of a little girl, that depends on the choices he makes. The outcome of history is in his hands.

Alicia is the 2nd short film directed by Shirley Spiteri Mintoff and is a gripping, surreal and almost dream-like experience.. Alicia portrays the inner conflict of a young girl who lost her mother without a chance to say goodbye. When her reality collapses, Alicia finds shelter in her mother’s stories. However, will she encounter the help she needs or has her darkened imagination different intents?
